Dubai's electronics market moves fast, and unfortunately so do counterfeit and grey-market sellers. Here's how to protect yourself when buying a phone, tablet, or watch.
Check for official warranty documentation
Genuine devices sold with UAE or International warranty come with proper activation and support through the manufacturer. If a seller can't explain the warranty terms clearly, that's a red flag.
Compare the price to the market
If a deal looks dramatically cheaper than every other retailer for the same model and storage, ask why. Extremely low prices are one of the most common signs of refurbished-as-new, used, or counterfeit stock.
Verify the seller has a real, checkable business presence
Look for a registered trade name, a physical address, and reviews you can verify — not just a social media page. Established sellers are transparent about who they are and where they operate from.
Ask about the return and returns window
Legitimate retailers offer a real return policy, typically 7 days or more, with clear conditions. If a seller avoids answering questions about returns, that's worth noting before you pay.
How we do it
At Babar Dewan Electronics, every device is genuine, backed by a 1-year official warranty, with a 7-day return window and full documentation. We're a registered Dubai trading company, not an anonymous reseller.
